Same Old 03:00
Every second passing seems to blurry up the moment I'd reassess the options but I'm frozen I think it's time that we leave Where is it you wanna go? The fabric frayed at the seams What they don't want you to know Don't wait up, 'Cause if the summer starts to crawl It's time to rearrange You've gotta find a way to break the same old way I think it's something that you know There's a siren waiting to go off at any notice Second guessing my habits here in these songs for too long I think I'm ready to leave Why do you have to go? The story's not what it seems I think you already know You've gotta find a way to break the same still frame moment Do you still notice?
2.
Hope you've been saving some quarters 'Cause everybody's selling something Just tell me what you're buying 'Cause everybody's selling something Part of the market scheme of cashing in on our dreams So do you have any money? Well, do you have any manners? Just enough to scam all the scammers Part of the market scheme won't tell me differently Tricked me with trickery Can't sell me anything
3.
why do the words feel the need to come to me when i need a change in release? the loss killed the spark, and every anxiety had flooded over me. (and now i can barely breathe) how can i spell it out so that the hangman won't swing around? the space in which you occupy it's hard to find a guiding light. can't say you tried. how can i search for a shift in my beliefs when i see the shame it precedes? the art left a mark and all of the pageantry could never appeal to me did you even try? did you even attempt to fill in the blanks? i was force fed all of my mistakes.
4.
what do we say when the meaning and the message seem to fade? do we kick it to the curb and walk away? picking up pieces that we couldn't rearrange so now the picture stays the same walls fall down with caution and pressure page torn out that won't even matter how do we wait when the anger and the tension seem to stay? is there worth in an attempt to clean the slate? wasting away the days we thought would force a change and now you're stuck inside the frame so let's agree to disagree there's been too many times you tried to change me (it was all of the time)
5.
Identity 03:28
our options untether, frayed beneath the fruits of our endeavors a shame that you should find the thought of another to gather every word we sang together and now we're not bound to each other if my identity is optional then your argument is abysmal could you even bear the weight you pass off without a second thought to the harm that it would cause? an offer withholding, prized by anyone who seeks their calling a look inside your palms could show what you're hiding this senseless effervescent needs defining from all the life that we lost the cost was high enough to justify the loss the price we pay for wasting our days
6.
Incentive 02:54
there's so many people that wouldn't surround me if i wasn't making them any money. there's all of these people i know wouldn't come near me if i wasn't giving them any money. i thought that we had it, but i guess that these feelings are bad for business. you'd think that they planned it, as if there's incentive for interaction. which makes me believe... there's so many people that wouldn't come near me if i wasn't giving them a cut of my money
7.
Clean Again 01:43
i can't find my way back to the start let's deal with this another time i'm slipping up, are you surprised? i don't know if you're here anymore listening to me at all 'cause i can't stay through another one don't act surprised will you get clean again? 'cause it's like we never spent the time we did
8.
Caustic 03:27
regress to a tone that we'd expect i know that i play my cards close to my chest a spiral implies a domino effect setting off a sequence of never ending stress it's been on and off again can't fix much of it if the problems persist i've been pausing everything to my detriment it goes on and on they suggest a static monument a seat to bear witness to any intent i'm miles behind with varied regrets replacing every outcome without an argument stop bringing up the past as if you think it's coming back
